I've always been inspired the architecture, fashion and art of the 19th century. Ever since I was a tiny child, I would insist that my parents took me to tour the Victorian homes in the area and I often fanaticized about returning to a time period that seemed all so familiar. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, but I do believe in reincarnation. I love to be surrounded by the delicate lace, and detailed workmanship that went into every item from that time period. I surround myself with antiques and often watch documentaries regarding that era or read historical books about local turn of the century homes in my current city of Denver.
I like to emulate the things I love such as the artwork of Alphonse Mucha. So I decided to put my passions of the era into my artwork; I wanted to create images that depited that era. As an artist, I created this beautiful flower crown and partnered with photographer Rick Escalante to create some images that would reflect my love of a time long passed.
Recently, I returned from a trip throughout Greece which was further inspiration for me. I walked through the trees to get to the top of the Acropolis in Athens. Gazing out at the city from the Parthenon. I was only further inspired to create these images.
